I've developed a crush on Joey Anuff and I've bookmarked his home page
(http://www.suck.com/fish/contributors/anuff/) just so I can visit his
picture -- he looks a bit like Ebon Fisher -- and ponder his prose.
It isn't his intelligence that I'm after, nor his body, it's his exquisite
dorkiness. He speaks to the me of twenty years ago when I wished I had
the ability to say what I wanted to say. I now have more skill but less to
say.
Joey , the cool Eagle Scout.
I once had Hunter S. Tompson, who did an admirable job but he's grown old
with me , and Gordon Matta-Clark and Robert Smithson, who haven't.
Joey is a manifestation of my nostalgia.
