it always amazes me how little information people supply on themselves in
email discussions. While any decent conference moderator will request you
to introduce yourself when taking the floor for an interuption/question...
'Amsterdam' opens just a bit more of a panorama than my time zone, or the
.nl in my address... 'signatures' are not flexible enough to change (again
a software shortcoming: i want my Eudora to give me a popup menu with
endless signatures to choose from -- or imply it with the address i'm
replying to.

the here is always where you are, when you connect (mostly home or work i
suppose, increasingly on the road?). It would be interesting to know where
people have there machines at home (the hobbyroom, the livingroom, the
bedroom, the kitchen? where they keep their art collection...? a shared
space? families united around the pc? a clean place, a dusty place, where
they have to take the cover off any time access time?)
