In reply to Bracha Lichtenberg Ettinger suggestion from 6.14.97 to think
about " ways of articulating net-spaces of the psyche" we can refer to the
mass-mediated image of the Netspace in the "Johnny Mnemonik" movie directed
by Robert Longo.
There are obvious likns between information and human memory which have
been demonstrarted in this movie.The 'information' was represented by the
artificial space which is strictly
arranged and filled up with various sets of signs. In fact this space
looked
very much like the Renessaince perspective. Johnny's own 'memory' was
manifested
in the set of accidental infantile recollections provoked by the
informational surcharge. These flash-backs
let Johhny to regress from the dangerous presence (Da) to the virtual space
of the past (Fort).
The interesting thing is that the time shift also might be considered as a
replacement of
incorporated digital information for an eidetic one. However, the
information in general is becoming
more and more esthetically packed, iconographically represented. In the
result we may assume that
technological netspace in its regress to visulization is homologues to the
hallucinatory infantile space.
Both of them are in-formational, for, 1) they give information, 2) they
arranged by information, 3) they
in-corporate a secret in a form of cript, 4) being criptic informational
space is multistructured,
5) these multistrucured spaces articulate multipersonal syndrom conditions.
