Chris.053 the name of the protagonist in SmellBytes is a software designed specifically for this project, Chris.053 is programmed to be driven by its insatiable olfactory desires, relentlessly lurking and sniffing by gaining unauthorized access to servers and IP addresses of CU See ME teleconference environments and chat rooms on line. Sniffing and lurking are appropriate metaphors for what intelligent agents usually do, but Chris.053 is quite literally on the hunt for body odors of those who socialize and communicate in the above environments. Without their knowledge or consent, Chris.053 grabs these human profiles.

With these abducted portraits, this bot entity evaluates and assesses the anatomical structures in order to classify and scientifically visualize human subjectivity. Chris.053 analyzes their facial structures according to beauty, symmetry and breaks them down into bits and smell bytes-algorithms that correspond to smells such as lemony, musty, harsh, jam, skunk, etc... This transformation of beauty into body odor is based on the research of the Ludwig Boltzman Institute for Urban Ethology and Human Biology in Vienna, that, (alarmingly reeking of racial and social prejudice) determines a direct relationship between the symmetry and harmony of the face and body smells.

To visit the continuously refreshed stinky gallery of digital equations of smells and numbers, a decoding and interpretation of the human profiles, or to join Chris.053's fan club, one must submit for analysis
their own image through a Quick cam and learn the bot's assessment of their smell. Once they become classified members, they are stored with the other grabbed profiles in the stinky gallery and can send their assessment as digital smellcards.
