Talking about “Accidental Monuments” is a kind of contradiction as nothing is more surreal than tourism,in which people from different places and supposedly different times find themselves juxtaposed and superimposed to create a reality that it is real to neither one. And contradictions are what define multi centered society we live today.””Accidental Monuments” has begun to develop as an idea as I have been living simultaneously in three different states and two continents and finding myself traversing several cultural and esthetic geographies at once . In multi centered societies , few of us know our place,and even if we can locate our selves,we have rarely examined our actual relationship to that place from both socially critical and personal perspective.Somehow I always feel that I float between borders.
