I honestly don't understand this. If you mean that art is about art
primarily, I think you've overlooked most critical/multicultural
theory of the past couple of decades. If you mean that art is at bottom
self-referential, you're appealing to an aesthetics I disagree with,
placing it in an aphoristic context as if it were the case.
I doubt you mean either of these. I also don't think there is a "bottom-
line," unless you believe that art is somehow rooted, foundational.
So I'm lost.
