remember the *negative definition* of intelligence, perhaps the most
important form of intelligence in this era is a highly refined sense of
knowing what to ignore. What intrigues me about the Microsoft corporation
is that they appear to have developed a model of meta-intelligence....
meaning that they (perhaps it was Gates by himself) set out to redefine
what *intelligence* was and create employment tests that were based on a
"more intelligent conception of what constituted intelligence"... ergo,
they populated the company with employees that matched a superior model for
what intelligence is, and hence are consistently able to outthink other
companies who have a less intelligent idea of what it means to be intelligent.
