A 1917 view of the two blocks between Lafayette and Mott, above Spring.
All of the wooden buildings (in yellow) on the southwest corner of Prince and Mulberry were demolished, having been replaced by a seven-story residential structure sometime in the 1960s or 1970s. The neighboring buildings on the southeast corner of Prince and Lafayette are also all gone; in their place stands the President Monroe Apartments.
The fire station has since moved next door, taking over the vacated site of the public school.
Note the theater on Spring between Mulberry and Mott.
