Thank you for your interest in boys and horses. We are a company dedicated to providing
work alternatives to individuals who strive for dependence. Jin's banana house was
founded on the belief that it is possible to combine world travel, financial gain, and
personal fulfillment. We gather employment ideas from all over the world. Then we
make the best methods available to you. Our research will provide you with freedom
from financial worries and the 8-5 grind.
Our latest project sounded almost too easy when we first heard about it. It all started
from a story that one of our co-founders, Rose, told us. She bumped into a friend at her
high school reunion, His name is Mick and, unlike most the others at the reunion, Mick
doesnít have a real job;. In fact, he didnít even finish college. He had a
dream to see the world and heís still seeing it today.
He was dressed in jeans and needed a shave so it was easy to imagine him backpacking
around the world, living on a shoestring. Everyone believed Mick must have traded
financial security for his traveling experiences. How else could a person in their early
30ís be calling their own shots? Surely, Mick had visited many fantastic spots but he
was most likely poor.
But when the evening was over, everyone was shocked to see Mick climb into a new
sports car. Rumors sprang up immediately. He had to be smuggling drugs, running
guns, or something illegal. How else could a guy who didnít have a suit own a ride like
that?
Before flying out of town, Rose had to find out. The next day, Rose looked up Mickís
number. His wife answered and said that Mick was out ;hawking his wares.
So, Rose thought, maybe he was up to something illegal.
;What does Mick sell, anyway?; Rose finally had the courage to ask.
Mickís wife laughed. ;He never tells anyone because he knows everyone will
want to do it
;Do what?
;Mick travels all over buying import goods and then he sells them to stores back
home.
It was hard to believe. But when Rose finally got Mick to reveal his secret, it was as
simple as that.
"Iím the middleman between the foreign merchant and the import stores
here,; he explained. ;I travel, I buy, and they buy from me.
Why? Why would stores buy from someone like Mick? Someone without a college
degree? With, as he claimed, no prior experience?
;Youíd be surprised how many people donít do something,; he replied,
just because they donít believe it can be done.
And did he really pay for his car with profits from importing goods and selling
them?
Mick nodded. ;And my house. In cash.
So Rose and the rest of us at TravelWorks investigated Mickís claims. Was it really
possible to make the kind of money Mick did, and have unlimited freedom?
We called one of the stores Mick regularly sold his goods to.
We wanted to know why they would employ a person with no credentials, and pay him
so well.
He doesnít work for us the shopowner said. ;He works for himself.
Thatís the difference. People who buy for us, like Mick, travel where they want to, buy
what we order and what they like, and write it all off as a tax deduction.; Even
the shopowner sounded like he envied Mick.
When Mick finally agreed to show us the scrapbook of his travels, we couldnít believe
he considered this his job. Photographs of Southeast Asia, Europe, and
South America looked more like they were taken on vacation than while
working
;I even bring my wife along,; he said. Can you see why I donít tell
many people how I make a living? Otherwise, the whole world would want to do
it.
Why donít more people travel and import goods for
merchants in the U.S. who pay top dollar?
Mick knew the answer. ;Fear, he said. ;I have friends who are
miserable in their jobs. But they wonít try something new. They see how happy I am,
but they think itís too good to be true. They say I just lucked out.
All Mick started with was his desire to avoid a real job. He had to learn
the tricks of his trade without the help of a guide like ours. Our information shows you
the shortcuts to seeing the world and filling your bank account at the same time.
Jin's banana house has investigated many opportunities to travel and work. Weíve looked
into cruise ship jobs, national park employment, the Peace Corp, and overseas teaching
programs. And nothing compares to the possibilities open to you through importing. If
you donít believe it, call and investigate the options for yourself. We discovered that
the pay for jobs like these is nothing to write home about, and where you go is rarely
under your control. In contrast, the importer has the benefits of both money and
complete freedom to travel.
