HOW TO USE THE ZAPATISTA TRIBAL PORT SCAN
ENGLISH/SPANISH/ITALIAN
To use the Zapatista Tribal Port Scan (ZTPS)
to participate in the protest,
first verify that your system supports Java. To do so on Windows,
simply run:
C:\ecd\presidencia.bat
(You can double-click the batch file in
the ecd folder, where
ever it may be.)
(Unix users can use the equally simple unix_presidencia.sh file.)
This simple batch file will try to start
ZTPS, assuming your
system is configured with a Java Runtime Environment, also
known as a Java Virtual Machine. (Java 2 required).
If Java is not installed on your system,
you will get a 'bad command'
error, or some such. If this is the case, you will need to install
Java on your system.
For Windows PC's, Sun's version of Java
is most dependable and
predictable historically. You can download and install this quite
easilly.
Sun has installation help for flavors of Win, Solaris, Linux and Mac.
After the installation procedures, repeat the steps above.
If you have a dedicated connection, simply
minimize your window and
let it work for the entire protest period. If you are using a dial up
connection, please run ztps when you are online.
ZTPS is pretty weak as a 'military' tactic
deployed against
a server, by resources and by design. It is *not* designed to, nor is
it capable, of taking a server down. In fact, it will use only a tiny
bit of your own available network bandwidth. It is only designed to
carry messages to a server in an manner inspired by the Zapatistas. It
is a protest as performance that depends on your good heart and your
good network connection. It is not a performance test of the target
server, nor hacking, nor denial of service, nor anything like that.
However, because it makes *actual* network connections to the "target"
server,the use of ztps can be traced and might be misunderstood as a
provocative act by a paranoid network admin somewhere.

Para utilizar el Escáner de puertos
Zapatista Tribal (ZTPS) y
participar en la protesta, primero verifica que tu sistema
soporta Java. Para hacer esto en Windows, sólo tienes que
hacer funcionar
C:\ecd\presidencia.bat
(Puedes hacer doble click en el archivo
de procesamiento por bloques -
batch file- en la carpeta de ECD).
(Los usuarios de Unix users puede emplear
el archivo igualmente
sencillo unix_presidencia.sh.)
Este sencillo batch file intentará
poner en marcha el ZTPS, siempre
que tu sistema esté configurado para un entorno de ejecución
de Java o
Ordenador virtual Java. (Necesitas un Java 2).
Si java no está instalado en tu
sistema, te saldrá un comando de
*error*. Si es así, necesitarás instalar java.
Para los Pcs con Windows, la versión
de Java de Sun es la más
recomendable. Puedes descarga e instalarla fácilmente en
Sun tiene ayuda de instalación para Win, Solaris, Linux y Mac.
Tras la instalción, repite los pasos explicados arriba.
Si tienes una línea dedicada, sólo
tienes que minimizar la ventana y
dejarla funcionar durante todo el tiempo de la protesta. Si utilizas una
conexión individual de marcado o dial up, por favor, haz funcionar
el ZTPs
cuando estés on- line.
ZTPS es bastante débil como táctica
militar empleada contra un
servidor, por sus fuentes y su diseño. No está diseñada
para echar
abajo a un servidor, ni es capaz de hacerlo. De hecho, sólo
empleará una pequña porción de tu ancho de banda. Sólo
está diseñada
para transportar mensajes a un servidor de una forma inspirada por
los zapatistas. Es la protesta como performance lo que depende
de tu buen corazón y de tu buena conexión a la Red. No es una
prueba de comportamiento del servidor- objetivo, no es hacking,
tampoco denial of service ni nada de eso.
Sin embargo, por hacer conexiones de Red
actuales con el servidor-objetivo,
el empleo ZTPS puede ser rastreado y malentendido como una acción
provocativa hecha por un administrador de red paranoico de cualquier
lugar.

Per usare lo Zapatista Tribal Port Scan
(ZTPS),
che consente di partecipare alla protesta,
per prima cosa verifica che il tuo sistema supporti Java.
Se usi un sistema operativo Windows lancia:
C:\ecd\presidencia.bat
(puoi semplicemente clikkare doppio sul
file di batch
nella folder ecd, ovunque essa si trovi)
(gli utenti Unix possono usare il comunque
semplice file
unix_presidencia.sh)
Questo semplice file di batch proverà
a lanciare lo ZTPS,
presupponendo che il tuo sistema sia configurato un ambiente Java,
noto anche come Java Virtual Machine (è necessario Java 2).
Se non hai installato Java sul tuo sistema
ti apparirà un messaggio
di errore 'bad command', o qualcosa del genere. In questo caso, dovrai
installare Java sul tuo sistema.
Per i PC con Windows, la versione della
Sun di Java è storicamente la
più affidabile e prevedibile. Puoi scaricarla e installarla in modo
relativamente semplice.
Sun ha un help per l'installazione per

Dopo aver installato Java ripeti i passi
descritti sopra.
Se hai una linea dedicata, semplicemente minimizza la finestra e lascia
che il programma lavori per l'intera durata della protesta.
se hai una connessione dial-up lancia ZTPS quando sei on-line.
ZTPS è piuttosto debole come tattica
'militare' da utilizzare contro un
server, sia per le sue risorse che per il modo in cui è scritto.
ZPTS *non* è stato scritto per tirare giù un server e non è
capace di
farlo. ZPTS infatti, userà solo una minima parte
della banda di rete che hai a disposizione. E' scritto solo per portare
messaggi ad un server in un modo che è stato ispirato dagli Zapatisti.
E' una
protesta performativa che dipende dal tuo buon cuore e da una buona connessione
di rete. Non serve a testare le capacità del server colpito, non è
hacking, non
è denial of service, non è niente di tutto questo. Ad ogni modo,
visto che
effettivamente crea connessioni con il server obiettivo
della protesta, l'uso dello ZTPS puo' essere tracciato e scambiato per
un'atto di provocazione da qualche amministratore di rete paranoico
